I don't think you can compare these sites. I read an article about the "best" music site and I think all sites, if done well, have different things to offer. Whether it's music, Real Estate, shopping, news, etc. there are often more than one great website that becomes your favorite. The idea of an all encompassing site for a particular interest has become difficult to achieve. The best sites are the ones who select one thing and do it very well. I'd rather have 3 sites bookmarked for my Sports News and be able to quickly and easily see what I want than have 1 site that is too full of everything.
As for Pandora, MOG, and 8tracks... I think that the angle, intent, and goal for both the developers and the users can create a reason for me to book mark all three. When I want to simply listen to music, I love Pandora. I can select what kind of music I'd like to listen to and just let it go. It's brilliant for parties. But, when I want to discover what's hot, I go to MOG. It's like a compilation of music blogs and I get in "tune" (ha ha) with the latest and greatest. It really becomes more than just music news. I can listen to the hits of the day and know what's coming around the bend. And then there's 8tracks. This is where my music snob gets to play. It's a great site where people upload their own music and make mixes (with a minimum of 8 tracks). What I love about 8 tracks is discovering music that you can only learn about through people. It's not on the radio, but it's out there. Most often you will never know about them unless you heard them open for a more popular band at a concert, through friends who discovered through friends, etc. etc. or were tipped off somehow. For example, I discovered Nick Drake from the Jetta commercial. I love the song and googled Jetta Commercial and figured it out. I rolled the dice and bought his CD and luckily, I liked it!
By the way, click here for the commerical.

Excellent comparison, Soshul. I'm the founder of 8tracks and completely agree.
All 3 services provide streaming music but do so in unique ways that are appealing in different consumption modes (and in different ratios, depending on an individual's tastes/background).
